I would like to extend my sincere condolences to reporter Pat Kelly from the Boundary Creek Times; we are so sorry for your loss and wish you well. God Bless.

In the absence of Pat this week I have been asked to submit a short article for Times readers and to help keep residents informed. There are plenty of things going on in the city now as we move into fall and eventually winter. The streets are alive with colour and look extremely beautiful so get out and enjoy our little corner of the world.

As many of you may have read, we are attempting to develop a Greenwood Economic Development Committee (GEDC) here in Greenwood that will bring together Greenwood Council, Greenwood Board of Trade, Community Futures Boundary, and Boundary Country Regional Chamber of Commerce all on one common theme, to work together for the betterment and improvement of Greenwood business and all our residents because if our businesses succeed then Greenwood will succeed as well. It’s about community pride and building community together and even though the GEDC is still in its infancy it’s very positive to see all of these organizations come together for the one common theme.

There is much more work to do as we go through the process and together we are hosting a strategic planning session on Nov. 7 at the MacArthur Centre starting at 6 p.m. If you have an idea to share please plan to be a part of this session and we will be providing coffee and sandwiches for the attendees. The more participation we can get from the community as a whole, the better the chance of success.

On another note, the old band shell has been removed and the property cleaned up. The new #5 well is being worked on and hope to be completed very soon to give you more of the world’s best tasting municipal water right at your fingertips. The new water lines have been replaced in the city and the water mains flushed thanks to the grant funding.

In closing, please remember to turn your clocks back one hour on Sunday, Nov. 3. Have a wonderful day, everyone, and sincere wishes for the best of health, wealth
