B&E at saloon

A string of break ins occurred on March 5 in communities along Hwy 3 - Castlegar, Christina Lake and Greenwood were hit.

One wallet was all that thieves made off with after breaking into the Greenwood Saloon two weeks ago.

On Wednesday, March 5 Midway RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter into the saloon, reported Cpl. Kevin Christensen.

Unknown suspect(s) broke in through the front door window and then stole a wallet once inside, he said.

“It is believed that the alarm may have scared off the thieve(s) before they could get away with anything else,” Christensen said in a release, adding that there were similar break and enters that occurred in Castlegar and Christina Lake the same night.

“Police have seized evidence from each of the crime scenes and it is believed that the same suspect(s) are responsible for all the break and enters,” Christensen reported.

He said police have suspects in mind but if anyone has information regarding these break and enters, contact the Midway RCMP or Crimestoppers.
