Museums in Nelson and Rossland are among the latest recipients of the provincial Community Gaming Grants for arts organizations.
Nelson-Creston MLA Brittny Anderson and Kootenay West MLA Katrine Conroy announced over $300,000 will be awarded to West Kootenay arts and culture initiatives.
“Supporting local organizations with community gaming grants helps ensure the events and activities we love can come back year after year,” said Conroy in a statement. “As we work to make life better for people in the Kootenays and around B.C., we’re committed to supporting the organizations that do so much to enrich our lives.”
Rossland Historical Museum and Archives Association received $53,000 while the Nelson Museum, Archives and Gallery was funded $36,400.

• Nelson Civic Theatre Society - $15,000
• Association des francophones des Kootenays Ouest - $14,300
• Langham Cultural Society - $14,000
• West Kootenay Regional Arts Council - $14,000
• Kootenay Literary Society - $12,000
• Nelson Circus Performers Association - $10,500
• Taghum Community Society - $10,000
• The Greater Trail Creative Activities Centre Society for the Visual Arts - $9,500
• Rossland Council for Arts and Culture - $8,400
• Arrow Lakes Historical Society - $5,300
• South Kootenay Lake ArtConnect Society - $4,000
• Kaslo Concert Society - $3,000
• The Arrow Lakes Fine Arts Guild Society - $1,200
