I am a proud and grateful Canadian. I am thankful for freedom, clean water and air, and the knowledge that my family lives without terror and fear. I am grateful that my children and grandchildren are living in an ever-increasing, tolerant and compassionate country and community where we care for and support one another.
This Canada Day parade, I witnessed our little town of Rock Creek spring to life with laughter, happiness, celebration and cooperation. I watched individuals young and old, businesses, organizations and community groups participating side by side to illustrate that we are friends, we are community and we are Canadian.
Kudos to the “movers and shakers” in our community. Kudos to Angela Kitchen for spearheading the parade. Kudos to all who were involved in the Canada Day celebration at the medical centre following the procession.
Well done, Rock Creek! Happy summer everyone.
