Rose peacefully passed away with family at her side at the age of 90 on March 17, 2014 in the Boundary Hospital.

Rose Margaret Hallstrom was born to Joe and Luigina Lavia in Fife on April 20, 1923. Rose grew up and went to school in Grand Forks. In 1948, she married James Hallstrom and moved to the farm on Boundary Creek Road. They raised four children, Delle, John, Bud and Lief.

Rose helped on the farm and ran her brother’s clothing store in Greenwood. She loved her family and friends. Rose enjoyed gardening and always kept the comer of Boundary Creek full of bright colours from the many flowers she had planted around the yard. Another love was food, although she was small in stature, family and friends will tell you that she was never shy when it came to second and third helpings.

The Hallstrom family would like to thank their friends, staff at the Boundary Hospital, Paramedics and Community Care Staff for all the care and support.

Rose is survived by her sister Emma Zahn, daughter Delle (Norm) Hoffman, sons John and Lief (Julie) Hallstrom, Daughter in Law Trish Hallstrom, grand children Kerri (Ian) Trip, Darren (Tracey) Hoffman, Dylan Hallstrom (Jade Bennett), Devin Hallstrom (Stacy Ludwar), Jayme (Kendra) Hallstrom and Breann Hallstrom. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Ryan and Jessica Trip, Jacey and Kennady Hallstrom and Daniel Hoffman.
