April 18, 1954 - February 12, 2019
Sadly, we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Irving Macnab on February 12, 2019, at the age of 64. Bob was born in Grand Forks, BC, on April 18, 1954, the seventh of eight children born to Helen Macnab. He grew up in Greenwood, attended school there before leaving home around the age of 14. After moving around for a few years, Bob returned to Greenwood, finally settling down in Grand Forks where he married, divorced, and resided for the remainder of his life.

Bob was a member of the Grand Forks Lions Club from 1986 to 1989 and was a Grand Forks Volunteer Fire Fighter for many years. He worked mainly in the construction trade over the years, most of the time doing renovations and odd jobs. Despite his troubled life and poor health, Bob had a good heart and was willing to help anybody in need, sharing the little he had with anyone. Perhaps now Bob will finally rest peacefully.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Helen Macnab, brothers Don Fritz, Glen Fritz, Stanley Macnab, sister Muriel Smith, brother-in-law Jacob Smith and sisters-in-law Heather Fritz and Carol Fritz Bouchard. He is survived by brother Bill Macnab of Princeton, BC, sisters Noreen Milstead (Rick) of Havelock, ON, and Gayle Macnab of Abbotsford, BC.

Amongst Bob's surviving nieces and nephews are: Gordon (Gloria), Greg, Jodi (Ken), Todd (Leslie), Tyson (Nicole), Dawn (Ken), Corrie, Ian (Naomi), Audrey (Jose), Marc, Kelly (Megan), as well as many great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Whispers of Hope Benevolence Association and the Boundary Community Food Bank for their service and care for Bob. We would also like to thank the Grand Forks RCMP for their kindness and compassion towards our immediate and extended family.

There will be no service by request; perhaps just a wish to extend support to the community services that helped Bob over the years. Cremation will take place in Grand Forks followed by internment in Fruitvale Cemetery in the Spring.
