It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Nellie Lucente on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Boundary Hospital.

Nellie was born in Fife, BC to Frank and Virgina Talarico. She grew up in Grand Forks and later moved to Greenwood when she married her husband Albert and raised their family there.

Nellie was predeceased by her husband, Albert on March 27, 2017, her parents Frank and Virgina, brothers; Pete, Tony, Rocco and Joe. Her sister-in-laws Sylvia, Grace and Edna, brother-in-law Phil Horovatin and nephew Ken Talarico.

Left to mourn her passing are Anthony (Alexa) and Brent, Darlene, Linda, Cheryl and Stacey, sister-in-law Margaret Horovatin, numerous nieces and nephews, along with her loyal dog; Harley.

Nellie was a loving and caring wife and mother. Her passions were cooking and baking. She was famous for her homemade bread and butterhorns.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Boundary Hospital for the excellent care they provided to Nellie.

The funeral service for Nellie Lucente along with a celebration of life service for the late Albert Lucente will be held at the Sacred Heart Church in Grand Forks on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 11:30 am. with a burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baker Family of Grand Forks Funeral Home.
