January 13, 1940 - October 9, 2018
Nedeljko Jovanetic, better known as Nedjo to his family and friends, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2018 in Vernon BC after Thanksgiving weekend filled with love and surrounded by close family at the age of 78. Although the last few years of his life were marked by his struggle with Parkinson's disease, his admirable strength could be seen through his smile and laughter. He was a phenomenal husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is will be missed by many.

Nedjo was born to Obrad Jovanetic and Budimka Perisic on January 13th, 1940 in Titovo Uzice,Yugoslavia (no known as Uzice,Serbia). He lived there with his family, enrolling in a private art school and then studying law at University of Belgrade until the war caused him to leave his home. He found his escape through boxing with a traveling circus across Europe. Nedjo then decided to leave Europe, and immigrated to Vancouver, Canada with his sister Radomirka. While living in Vancouver, Nedjo worked in hotel management, and this is where he met his wife Anness Rope. Together they had three beautiful daughters and lived in lions Bay, until they bought the Pacific Hotel in Greenwood BC. While Nedjo and Anness first ran the hotel as a restaurant, Nedjo then fulfilled his lifelong dream of transitioning the hotel into his own art studio and gallery, where he painted until his retirement in 201S. His artwork can be found across Canada.

Nedjo was predeceased by his parents, his sister, and his brother-in-law. Nedjo is missed greatly by his loving family: his wife, Anness; his three daughters Michelle Boehner, Dominique Jovanetic, and Nicole Drinkwater; his grandchildren Hailey and Dylan Boehner. Sydney and Solei! Strand, and Lucas, Owen and Kale Drinkwater; his sons-in-law Darryl Drinkwater, Leonard Strand and Reed Boehner; his sister- and brother-in-law Muriel and Dennis Kennedy and their family; and his good friend Conrad.

The family would like to sincerely thank Polson Extended Care Facility for their care and support during the last month of his life.

In lieu of a formal ceremony, we will host an art show to celebrate his life and artwork at a later date in Greenwood, BC .
