Len Baird born February 8, 1921, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2015 at Haven Hill Retirement Center, after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving family Gloria Finstad, Shirley and Jerry Haesch, Bill and Sue Baird and Jim Baird. Len has two sisters and a brother, Marie from Tisdale Saskatchewan, Carrie from Prince George, B.C. and Ray from Red Deer, Alberta. Len has eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and many more extended family. Len was predeceased by his loving wife Hazel on January 1, 1997, three brothers and one sister. Len was a Veteran and had served in the Canadian Army during WW II for four years. He had landed in France two days after D-Day. His passions were his fiddle and horses. Len and Hazel travelled throughout BC racing their ponies, always arriving home with a trophy or prize. He was know to his grandchildren as Grandpa Fiddles and always offered a tune and song. He will be missed dearly by all. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 21 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 4281 at 1:00 pm.
