Dorothy Jean Campbell

Feb. 16, 1931 – June 25, 2017


On Sunday, June 25, 2017, Mrs. Dorothy Jean Campbell of West Kelowna passed away peacefully at Village of Smith Creek, she was 86. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon Campbell on September 15, 1983; brothers Bill, Peter, Nick, Mike, and George.

Dorothy will be fondly remembered by her loving family including brother Dennis; sisters Helen, Sophie, Jean and Shirley; children Wayne (Hetty), Marty (Shirley), Les (Diane), Patty (Randy), Terry (Brenda) and Lee; grandchildren Jessica, Shawn, Kris, Travis, Ryan, Laura, Lee, Adam and Amanda; great-grandchildren Zane, Jasmine, Jacob and Blake as well as extended family and friends.

Dorothy was born on February 16, 1931 in Sundown, MB. The family moved to Oliver, then to Vernon. Dorothy settled in Rock Creek in the late 1940’s to help her sister and family. She met and married Gordon and stayed for almost 40 years! They owned a farm on the Kettle River and raised cattle, sheep, horses and six kids.

After Gordon’s passing in 1983, the farm was sold, Dorothy moved to Midway until Lee graduated in 1988. She then moved to Westbank where she lived for the last 30 years.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Rock Creek Cemetery. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be officiated by Pastor Ed Brouwer at 12:00 P.M. Saturday July 8, 2017 at the Osoyoos Seniors Centre.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dorothy Campbell are gratefully accepted for the Rock Creek Fall Fair, PO Box 83, Rock Creek, V0H 1Y0.
