NOTICE OF NOMINATION PERIOD FOR NOVEMBER 18TH, 2023 BY-ELECTION
Public Notice is given to the electors of the City of Greenwood that nominations for the office of:

Originals of faxed or emailed nomination documents must be received by the Chief Election Officer by 4:00 pm on Friday, October 13, 2023.
Nomination forms will be available at the Greenwood City Hall, as well as on the City website at www.greenwoodcity.com from 9:00 am Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE
A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold office as a member of local government if they meet the following criteria:
- Canadian citizen;
- 18 years of age or older on general voting day (Saturday, November 18, 2023)
- resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed;
- a person or the commander of an armed forces unit who has been granted freedom of the municipality, if that person is a Canadian citizen; and
- not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from being nominated for, being elected to, or holding the office, or be otherwise disqualified by law
CAMPAIGN PERIOD EXPENSE LIMITS
In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2023 By-election, the following expense limits for candidates during the campaign period apply:

THIRD PARTY ADVERTISING LIMITS
In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2023 by-election, the following third-party advertising limits apply:
$809.84 is the applicable third-party advertising limit from section 19 of B.C. Reg. 309/16 Local Elections Campaign Financing Expense Limit Regulation
