Boundary Hospital Auxiliary praised for trauma unit fundraising

Funding helped to pay for several upgrades to make delivering life-saving medicine easier

Interior Health is praising the fundraising efforts of the Boundary Hospital Auxiliary for the new trauma room at Boundary Hospital

“Thanks to the generous funders and partners within the Boundary communities who have been raising funds to enhance the equipment that can be added to the room.,” stated a news release from Interior Health.

The Auxiliary were instrumental in supporting key elements for the room, including:

  • A baby warmer, also known as a neonatal resuscitation unit
  • A pharmacy fridge
  • A suture cart
  • A nursing / physician work station
  • A trauma stretcher
  • Three specialized trauma supply units

Interior Health also purchased an emergency articulating trauma boom allowing for state-of-the-art lifesaving diagnostics and care, the release stated.

The new equipment stabilize patients that will be transported to regional or tertiary sites.
