BCSS Basketball team ready for hoops action

Competition on the basketball courts gets going this weekend in Grand Forks.

The Boundary Central junior girls basketball team is off to their first tournament this weekend at Grand Forks Secondary School (GFSS).

The girls have been practicing hard since the end of volleyball and have 15 players ready to go.

“We have some great athletes playing,” said coach Lisa Baia. “Although it is a very young team, they are very talented and we are expecting some great things from them over the next few years.”

Also participating this weekend are Mt. Sentinel, Oliver and the host GFSS.

The girls’ first game is Friday at 3 p.m. against the host team.
