Logging truck accident near Midway prompts detour

A logging truck accident closed Highway 3 near Midway this afternoon, but it is unclear whether there have been an injuries.

According to Drive BC, a vehicle accident 10 kilometres west of Midway spurred a detour on Kettle Valley Road East. The road is expected to open again around 5 p.m. Thursday evening.

Passersby reported a logging truck that appears to have spilled logs over part of the highway. There is not yet an indication as to why the accident may have occured, but first responders were on scene.

Midway RCMP have not yet returned a request for comment. This story will be updated with details as they become available.
