Evacuation alerts have been rescinded for four fires in the West Kootenay.
The Regional District of Central Kootenay has rescinded the evacuation alert for residents impacted by the Nemo Creek wildfire, part of the Slocan Lake Complex in Electoral Area H.
The area includes one address and 18 parcel identifiers along the west shore on the northern end of Slocan Lake in Electoral Area H. This area was on evacuation order starting July 19 through Aug. 12 when the evacuation order was downgraded to an evacuation alert.
The RDCK has also rescinded the evacuation alert for residents impacted by the Ponderosa wildfire and partially rescinded the evacuation alert for residents impacted by the Mulvey Creek wildfire. Both wildfires are part of the Slocan Lake Complex. The evacuation alert rescind area includes 129 properties and 48 parcel identifiers in Electoral Area H on the east side of Highway 6, from Kennedy Road to north of the Village of Slocan and a portion of properties on the west side of Slocan River.
Also rescinded is the evacuation alert for residents impacted by the Komonko Creek wildfire (formerly known as the Aylwin Creek wildfire), part of the Slocan Lake Complex. The area includes 124 properties and 54 parcel identifiers in Electoral Area H north of the Village of Slocan, along the Highway 6 corridor, including Red Mountain Road to the Village of Silverton. The majority of the area was on evacuation order starting July 20 through Aug. 12 when the evacuation order was downgraded to an evacuation alert.
