Thumbs up to Rossland golfer's hole-in-one

John Turley scored a hole-in-1 on the fifth hole of the Redstone Golf Course

On Sunday, Sept. 8, golfer John Turley of Rossland achieved a remarkable hole-in-one at Redstone Golf Course.

Turley’s impressive shot came on the par-3 fifth hole from the blue tees, using a 7-iron to pull off the rare feat.

He celebrated the milestone with his golf partners, Brian Garrett and Mike Kennedy.

Congratulations, John!

The odds of making a hole-in-one can vary depending on a golfer's skill level, but here are the general estimates:

 - For an average amateur golfer: The odds are roughly 1 in 12,500.
 - For a professional golfer: The odds improve significantly, to about 1 in 2,500.

Factors such as course conditions, distance, and weather can also influence the chances, but overall, making a hole-in-one is a rare and special achievement in golf.
