The Oncology Department at Boundary Hospital in Grand Forks has received a generous $5,000 donation from this year's Big Effort Swim fundraiser, held in August at Christina Lake.

Now in its third year, the 36-kilometre open-water endurance event, organized by the Big Effort Foundation, brought together 80 swimmers in support of mental and physical health.

Participants aimed to swim as far as they could, with pledges collected per kilometre swum.

Sasha Tyoschin, Director of The Big Effort Foundation, presented the cheque to Lisa Pasin, Executive Director of the KBRH Health Foundation, who accepted the donation on behalf of Boundary Hospital.

Pasin expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you to everyone who made this incredible event possible."
