Joan Wittner is very much in touch with her inner artistic self. She moved to the Boundary in 1993 and has been a member of the Kettle River Art Club for almost 20 years.
That she has acquired many friends was evident as more than 30 people came to the art club last Thursday, April 3 to honour her 80th birthday with a cake and, of course, some beautiful handmade cards.
She works in oils, ceramics and pictures of her Brazilian embroidery has featured in the Times in the past.
“These are all my friends,” Joan said as she looked around the room. “I can call them anytime and say ‘hi, how are you doing?’ That’s a friend!”
