Greenwood Mayor Nipper Kettle presented a certificate of appreciation to Les Williams in recognition of his many years of volunteer service in directing and encouraging Founder’s Day.

Founder’s Day is held on the second weekend of July and includes a parade through town followed by games, music, vendors, information booths and exhibits by the Boundary Mining Association.

“Founder’s Day is not about me,” said Williams, “though I thank you for this honour; however, the thanks goes out to the people who have participated and supported Founder’s Day for the last 15 years or so.

“It is a community effort that has made Founder’s Day a success and we will continue to make it a success,” Williams added.
