The Rock Creek Community Medical Society will be celebrating their 6th annual Canada Party on July 1st this year.

Downtown Rock Creek is gearing up for a busy Canada Day weekend. Festivities begin Saturday, June 29th with the weekly market and the third annual Vintage Fair held in the field beside Rags, Relics and Rutabagas.

The Vintage Fair brings to the West Boundary vendors specializing in antique and vintage clothing, jewelry, paper ephemera, fabrics, linens, lace and much more. At the request of Vintage Fair vendors the event will run for three days this year - from 9 to 4 on Saturday and Sunday; and on Monday from 9 to 3.

The Midway Volunteer Fire Department provides the concession services on Saturday and Sunday. Pancake breakfast will be served from 8:00-11:30 and lunch will follow.

“For those who have been looking for a way to support our hardworking men and women this is an excellent way to lend support and not have to cook as well,” said Rags, Relics and Rutabagas owner Pat Pownall.

The firemen will be selling tickets on a barrel race, which will take place Sunday at 1 p.m. Buy a ticket for your chance to win $500.

Monday is "CANADA DAY" and the fun kicks off beginning at 10 a.m. with the 4th annual Canada Day Parade leaving from the Petro-Canada parking lot.

If you wish to take part, meet at the Petro-Can at 9:30 a.m. There are prizes for the best entry and prizes for boys and girls and men and women displaying Canada "pride".

Kettle Valley Recreation has donated prizes and everyone is invited to come join the fun.

The parade ends at the medical center the where Rock Creek Community Medical Society will host their 6th annual Canada Day Party. The Kettle River Lions will cook hamburgers and hot dogs for the assembled masses, dessert will be provided by the Women’s Institute and the 4-H club will provide a variety of children's games and activities.
