Most people living with a mental disorder say the stigma is worse than the symptoms they feel. Clara Hughes, Canada’s six-time cycling and speed-skating Olympic medallist, is trying to raise awareness and action about mental health and help end this stigma by completing a 110-day national bicycle tour across Canada.
She stopped at Deadwood Junction in Greenwood long enough to discover Eva Fieber’s cinnamon buns, which she said she loved. Hughes and Eva shared a moment in front of the Greenwood business last Friday when she was pedalling her way to Grand Forks as part of her “Big Ride.”
