Many hands make both light work and a quality job too at the Boundary Guiding Unit car wash.

The Girl Guides set up a car wash at the Spot in Midway on Canada Day to help raise money to send three Pathfinders from Midway and two from Grand Forks on a 10-day trip to a World Association of Girl Guides and Girls Scouts World Centre in Mexico in July 2014.

Midway Guiders Elaine Fromme and Sue Fielding will be accompanying them.

Each girl has to raise $2,500 by May 2014 to cover the cost of travel and accommodation.

Guides will be selling handmade crafts at Rock Creek and Boundary Fair.

The Spot has kindly offered space for car washes throughout the summer (there will be one this Saturday, July 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and will also have bundles of firewood on sale, which are tied by the girls.

A community bottle drive and silent auction are also planned for later in the year. Extra cookies will be on sale.

The girls can take on jobs such as yard/lawn work, dog walking, babysitting, window cleaning, and leaf/snow clearance.

To take advantage of these services call Fromme 250-449-2309 or Fielding 250-445-9955 for Midway and Greenwood, and Erin Stavenjord 250- 442-5926 in Grand Forks for availability.
