Waiving of tipping fees extended for fire victims

People affected by the Rock Creek fire will be given an extension on the waiving of fees for fire-affected debris taken to the landfill.

Reuse centre at the West Boundary Landfill will be closing.

Also closing are reuse centres in McKelvey Creek Landfill (Trail) and the Grand Forks Landfill.

There is an 800 hectare wildfire burning west of Rock Creek. Several areas have been evacuated.

The Rock Creek wildfire is currently at 500 hectares and 0 per cent contained. Both Highway 3 and 33 are closed to all traffic in the area.
