William (Bill) Wallick

January 12, 1930 – September 6, 2017

It is with sorrow that the family of William (Bill) Wallace announces his passing after complications arising from persistent medical issues on September 6, 2017 at the age of 87. Bill is survived by his 3 children: William Wallick, Cheryl (Wayne) Dennill, and Patricia Wallick. Bill will also be dearly missed by his 12 grandchildren: Hilary, Kristen, Shannalee, David, Kyla, Caitlin, Jade, Liam, Lee, Neil, Bruce, and Melinda, his 8 great grandchildren and his brother Jake.

Bill was born in Alvena District, Saskatchewan on January 12, 1930. He married his beloved Elva (2002) in 1951 and they eventually moved to British Columbia in 1958. Over the course of his entrepreneurial career Bill enjoyed many successes owning and operating businesses in Vancouver, Kamloops, Quesnel, Hedley, 100 Mile House and Boston Bar.

In 1988, Bill and Elva retired and began a long adventure traveling across North America, eventually falling in love with and purchasing a beautiful farm outside Greenwood, B.C. It was here that Bill (known as Boppy to his grand babies) was happiest; enjoying the farm life, playing crib, raising animals, and watching his many grandchildren spend their summers running through hay fields, chasing his loyal dog Chum, and fishing in the creek that ran through his backyard. He will always be remembered for his sharp wit, his sense of humor and his unmatched work ethic.

A memorial and celebration of life will be held October 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oliver Seniors Centre. Condolences and tributes may be directed to the family by visiting www.nunes-pottinger.com
