We will be having Alana Hicik, a community paramedic with BC Emergency Health Services, holding a couple of drop-in information sessions for the public here at the Greenwood Public Library! Residents can come by and listen on Wednesday, Aug. 9 from 2-3 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 16 from 2-3 p.m. The topics are yet to be decided but may include information on preventing falls in the home; please check our website at greenwood.bc.libraries.coop or call the library at 250-445-6111 for more details closer to the date.

The summer programs at the library are in full swing and continue for a few more weeks. Summer Reading Club for kids ages 6-8 meet on Tuesdays from 1-2:30 p.m., and ages 9-12 on Tuesdays as well from 2:45-4:30 p.m. for games, crafts and other activities. The final program will be on Aug. 15, and our summer student, Kim, is planning an afternoon in the park with lots of games, prizes, and refreshments. Drop-ins are welcome!

Storytime for preschool children aged 3-5 years with parent or caregiver continues on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. until Aug. 16. Join us for stories, songs, puppets, action rhymes, felt stories, and simple crafts. Upcoming themes are Weather, Fish, and Rabbits. This program will resume again in early October.

Labour Day is fast approaching and we will be having another Sidewalk Book Sale outside the library from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Donations of books, DVDs, magazines, and audiobooks are now being accepted for this sale.

Enjoy the rest of the summer, and stay safe!
